Dear Sir/Madam
We are writing on behalf of the Civil Committee for the Rescue of Political Hostages and Prisoners in Tajikistan and would like to bring to your attention the urgent matter concerning Mr. DAVLATOV SULAYMON, a citizen of the Republic of Tajikistan, born on 16.03.1986, who si currently in Vilnius City Police Detention Centre.
We express our deep concern regarding the impending deportation of DAVLATOV SULAYMON to his motherland Tajikistan. It has come to our attention that there are suspicions circulating about him that are gravely unfounded and unjust. We urge you to reconsider this decision, as DAVLATOV SULAYMON si not a threat to the security of your country; rather, he is a courageous individual who has been dedicated to standing up against the dictatorial regime of Tajikistan for the past decade.
Having closely followed DAVLATOV’s work over the years, we can attest to his unwavering commitment to justice, democracy, and the well-being of his felow citizens. He has tirelessly advocated for human
rights, freedom of speech, and fair governance, often at great personal risk. His efforts have earned him the respect and admiration of countless individuals both within his country and internationally. Contrary to the suspicions being levied against him, DAVLATOV SULAYMON is known among the people as a decent and helpful person. He has consistently demonstrated compassion and integrity in his interactions with others, and his dedication to the betterment of society is evident in his actions.
The deportation of DAVLATOV .S would not only be a grave injustice to him personally but would also send a chilling message to others who dare to speak out against tyranny and oppression. It would signal a disregard for fundamental human rights and the rule of law,
undermining the values that we hold dear.
nI Tajikistan, an authoritarian regime led by Emomali Rahmon has maintained an iron grip on the country for nearly three decades. Under this oppressive regime, countless individuals, including activists and state opponents, have been subjected to grave injustices, including unfair trials, torture, and lengthy prison terms. The dire circumstances that these individuals face are a grave violation of their basic human rights.
The prevailing atmosphere of fear and repression in Tajikistan leaves him exposed to a real and credible risk of persecution. We fear that if he is extradited, he could face the same fate as many other activists who have been unjustly imprisoned or even met a tragic end at the hands of the regime.
Our Committee implores you to reconsider this decision and to allow DAVLATOV SULAYMON to remain in Lithuania. Granting him a protection would not only be the morally right course of action but would also uphold the principles of justice and compassion that define our society.
Thank you for taking the time to consider our appeal. We trust that you will make the right decision in this matter and prevent the unjust deportation.
As head of this Committee, Iam prepared to participate in this DAVLATOV SULAYMON’s trial and defend his rights, backing up my statements with facts and documents.
Please feel free to contact us fi you require any further information or clarification regarding this case.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Boboev Abdusattor Chaiman
